I spent a year of my undergrad time as a turtle lab technician. Through this position, I was given a list of red belly painted turtles that I was responsible for weighing and measuring once a week to track their growth progress over the period of two semesters. After each weight and measurement check, I took pictures of all the turtles with a quarter to show the size comparison. Below you'll find some of the pictures I took along with more information about turtle research! 🐢
This is one of the Red Belly painted turtles that I was responsible for measuring.
The quarter in the pictures was used as a reference to track the growth.
